COD: Modern Warfare 2 Video Leaked

A leaked footage from the upcoming game Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has raked up controversy following a videograb showing a part of the game
where the player shoots civilians at an airport. The scene, from an early stage of the game in the campaign mode, shows defenceless civilians being shot at and left to die. The stage set at what seems to be a model of Los Angeles' LAX airport has received criticism from all quarters with even seasoned gamers who are not averse to the usual blood and gore finding it offensive. Some even compared the stage to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai last year where terrorists gunned down civilians at Mumbai's CST Railway station.

The stage according to game publisher Activision establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the player s mission to stop them. Activision adds that the players do have an option of skipping the scene altogether and that warnings regarding the graphic nature of the content is provided prior to the beginning of the stage.

All this, however, will not be enough for family interest groups and media watchers to rest the case and move along. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated games of this year, and is expected to go on sale this Christmas. The game is expected to be released on November 10 this year on the Xbox and the PS3.
