Razer has worked with Belkin to relaunch the Nostromo n52te Speedpad as the Razer Nostromo keypad. Originally designed to mimic the FPS staple WASD layout, the keypad has undergone revisions to support a greater range of gaming genres like RTS and MMORPG. A dedicated gaming keypad is more ergonomic than a full size keyboard, as it allows the use of large sized mousemats without having to spread the WASD and mousing hands far apart.Razer has incorporated Belkin's original ergonomic design and crammed it with trademark Razer features like a new chipset and software drivers that enable key programming and advanced command macros. The Nostromo keypad now enables instant switching between eight keymaps (up from Belkin's three), and the ability to store twenty gaming profiles. The 16-button keypad also includes a rubberized wristpad to alleviate wrist chafing and strain.
The keypad also includes an eight-way directional thumb pad (D-pad), which can be used either for movement or as modifier keys to access auxiliary commands. These features can be tapped to the fullest with Razer's custom configuration utility that gives access to remaps and macro programming. It also features backlit keys and scroll wheel. The Razer Nostromo keypad is out now on the official website for $70 (Rs. 3,200 Approx.).
