People Eagerly Waiting for PlayStation Phone: Poll

People Eagerly Waiting for PlayStation Phone: PollOn the day of the PlayStation Phone images being leaked on Engadget.com, we told you five things that makes this concept desirable. Concurrently, we also asked the audience in our opinion poll if they wanted one when it will be released (which they say will be next year). A whopping 49 percent people said yes, thus showing the positive backing the Japanese corporation's got. It also shows the desire that apparently a lot of people want to do some serious gaming on their phone.

A sizable 22 percent people said they'd rather prefer an iPhone. Maybe they are satisfied with the fun motion-based types or the virtual buttons on screen in the rest. Apple's largely populated app store also has a great variety to choose from. Lastly, and most importantly, games are cheap and unlike those PSP UMD-based games that made your wallet a lot lighter than you'd want.

Next, 17 percent people stated they do not want to play games on their phones. This could be as it drains out the battery life of the phone. Or maybe these folks get their dose of gaming on a bigger screen. Lastly, a small 12 percent people would still prefer buying a PSP.

Techtree reader Mithun from Tuticorin raised an important point, "Sony Ericsson is still struggling to bring 2.1 update (to existing XPERIA phones) when Gingerbread (Android 2.3) is already on the horizon. Looks like phones from Sony will never see a Froyo (Android 2.2) update. By integrating PSP features to android platform, it'll be an even tougher task to deliver OS updates."

What do you think? Is the PlayStation Phone a good or a bad idea? Leave us a comment and let us know.
