Apple Boot Camp 3.1 brings Windows 7

Just after Windows 7 was launched on October 22, Apple had announced to support it in Boot Camp. Now, the white fruit themed toy maker has released Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 version that supports Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate versions of 32-bit (380.73MB) and 64-bit (274.58). Isn't it funny that 32-bit version has bigger file-size than 64-bit?

Apple's Boot Camp application enables users to run Windows OS on Intel-based Macs. New Boot Camp Software Update 3.1 won't support Windows 7 on certain Macs released in 2006. Note that this Boot Camp software requires either Windows XP or Apart from bringing Windows 7 support, this update also patches certain issues related to Apple Trackpad and turns off the when unused red digital audio port LED for MacBook Pros. Also this update brings support for the new Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse. For further support, Apple offers system-specific drivers for supporting Windows 7.

The late 2009 release iMac 21.5-inch or 27-inch model owners can download iMac Late 2009 Windows 7 Drivers. Besides that, Mac Pro and iMac users also need to download Graphics Firmware Update 1.0 for the compatibility. Those looking forward to upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 on their Macs can download the Boot Camp Utility for Windows 7 Upgrade.

Now, the multiple OS/platform users would be delighted to work on Windows 7 on their Mac machines. Initially, the Windows 7 support via Boot Camp on Macs was promised by the end of 2009 but, better late than never.
