Toshiba and Gateway's upcoming netbooks got listed at Canadian retailer Future Shop. Packed with Intel's recently announced Pine Trail platform, the Toshiba NB305 and Gateway LT2102H will come with Windows 7 Starter edition. The Future Shop listed the NB305 for $460 (Rs. 22,000 approx.) While LT2102H is listed for $300 (Rs. 14,400 approx.). These netbooks are expected to be launched/displayed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 that begins January 7 in Las Vegas.
The new netbooks from Toshiba and Gateway will join other Pine Trail based netbooks from Lenovo, Samsung, Dell, HP and Asus. Toshiba NB305 features 1.66GHz Intel Atom 'Pineview' N450 microprocessor with 512K L2 cache and 667MHz FSB. With 1GB RAM, this netbook offers 250GB (5400RPM) HDD storage and Intel GMA 3150 Express integrated graphics.
Gateway LT2102H carries exact configuration but offers 160GB storage instead of 250GB in NB305. Both netbooks offer 10.1-inch LCD display with 1024x600 pixel resolution. The interesting bit is that LT2102H netbook, which despite of being priced lower than NB205, offers multi-touch gestures supporting trackpad.
At this CES 2010, we'll get to see Intel Pine Trail based netbooks and see if AMD has something to offer in response. Also, we look forward to the rumored Nvidia ION-2 platform.
