StarCraft II released for PC, Mac
Blizzard Entertainment has released the highly-anticipated sequel StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. This one is a real-time strategy game for PC and Mac platforms and can be termed as the biggest PC and Mac game release for 2010. Direct sequel to 1998 hit RTS game StarCraft, this game centers on the clash between protos, terrans and zergs takes place once again. This time, every class deploys their own legion of veteran, upgraded and new unit types. Solo campaign starts just where StarCraft: Blood War ended. Jim Raynor, a rebel leader, is one of the lead heroes along with other familiar as well as new faces. Players can get to choose their own mission path. Ultimate technology and research upgrades need to be selected to suit individual playing style to pave through 29-mission campaign. Capcom and Namco Bandai have taken a legendary leap and announced two big crossover titles - Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken X Street Fighter. Yes, it made us jump in our seats! Imagine the adrenaline rush while playing a fight between the characters from both franchises. Before you get confused, there are two versions of the game developed by two different game companies - Capcom and Namco Bandai. Street Fighter X Tekken uses the engine behind Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV. The characters of Street Fighters would be "re-imagined" in 3D and would fight in a 2D environment. Namco Bandai would be developing Tekken X Street Fighter and the game will obviously feature legendary Tekken style fighting gameplay.
EA releases SimCity Deluxe for iPhone
Electronic Arts has released yet another Sims game for Apple's iOS based iPhone. Any casual, yet dedicated Sims fan would love to play urban planners to build his own cities. EA is selling this game for $6.99 at the Apple App Store. New SimCity Deluxe for iPhone claims to be more portable and brings a number of improvements over the original SimCity game. With improved graphics and much easier controls, SimCity Deluxe surely brings the required enhancements any casual gamer would want. Improved scrolling for smoother movements across the city will make your task easier.
Ubisoft's H.A.W.X. 2 gets Multiplayer Mode
Ubisoft has announced new multi-player mode for its upcoming aerial warfare game - H.A.W.X. 2. This game is inspired from the works of Tom Clancy who has authored military science and espionage books. The sequel to original aerial warfare game - H.A.W.X. will allow full-on four-player co-op capabilities in four different game modes, noted Eurogamer. Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is developed by Ubisoft Bucharest studio. H.A.W.X. stands for High Altitude Warfare eXperience. The multiplayer option of this game would allow up to eight players to fly in Campaign, Survival, free-flight and arcade modes. H.A.W.X. 2 is due for arrive on September 3 this year for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
Warner Interactive and DC Entertainment have announced a new superhero game - Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters. This game would be released along with the superhero feature film - Green Lantern. Inspired by the movie itself, this game would be released alongside the movie in summer 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and DS platforms. Green Lantern: Rise of Manhunters is being developed by Double Helix Games for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Double Helix has also developed reputed movie-to-game titles from Star Wars series, The Matrix and Indiana Jones. Griptonyte is developing the game for Nintendo DS handheld.
