MVL Telecom's New Phone with Push e-mail Service

MVL Telecom's New Phone with Push e-mail ServiceMVL Telecom has announced the launch of its first handset in the Indian market, the G-81, complete with a host of features including support for push e-mail.

The G-81 has a 2.4-inch TFT display that can display stuff at a resolution of 320x240. It also has a QWERTY keypad which emphasizes its intention to be a messaging phone. The phone comes with 78MB of internal memory. It also supports memory expansion using microSD cards. The imaging bit is handled by a decent 3.2 megapixel camera which supports video recording as well. The phone offers 180 minutes of talk-time.

As for the messaging features of the phone, it supports popular email providers like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail apart from support for Microsoft Outlook. When you buy the phone,  MVL offers  the push email service for free for a period of two years. Note that this is separate from the GPRS charges that you will pay your service provider. That brings us to the connectivity options offered by the phone.

The G-81  is a GPRS/EDGE only phone and does not support Wi-Fi and 3G which might be seen as a drawback by many. The phone is also dual SIM and supports miniUSB connectivity and Bluetooth. The phone also comes with Opera Mini browser, Nimbuzz and Snaptu applications preloaded.

The MVL G-81 will set you back by Rs. 5,500 which seems to be a decent amount of money to pay for a device that offers push e-mail support.
