The phone is told to be a Nokia N9 which, in the near future, might turn out to be the flagship MeeGo based device. Since Symbian^4 is still under works, the first Symbian^4 prototype seems quite far away in the horizon.
Folks over at Engadget did a bit of research on the images and one of their friendly moles has confirmed that the device indeed is a Nokia prototype that was searchable in Nokia's internal database. The device seems to be known as the RM-680 internally which makes it quite different from another slider phone we spotted a few weeks ago which went by the RM-626 label. Also, design-wise, it was more of an N8 with a slider keyboard. This one has slightly different design, which we think looks better.
Anyway, all these things sort of make it clear that this slider will make it to a Nokia website soon. With Nokia World too approaching fast, Nokia better hurry up giving finishing touches to these prototypes.
We leave you with a few images of this device.
