At the gamescom 2010 convention, Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi mentioned that Gran Turismo 6 is already in works. Several gamers still await the arrival of the studio's Gran Turismo 5 for PlayStation 3. Yamauchi stated that the kart racing features demonstrated for GT5 were initially meant for GT6. This will put several gamers on awe and also keep them wondering when will GT6 arrive. Gran Turismo's demonstration by Polyphony Digital showed the Karting feature that was originally meant for GT6. Yamauchi said, "This is something we were actually saving for Gran Turismo 6 but the information leaked out so we decided we would just put it in this one." The Kart racing feature of GT5 is intended to recreate the thrill and fun of go-karting.
About the arrival of GT6, Yamauchi told Autoweek in an interview, You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5. GT5 was the creation of a whole new operating system, but developing GT6 will be like adding new applications that run on that new operating system.
Gran Turismo is set to arrive on November 5 in Europe and in the same week, Microsoft will introduce controller free device Kinect for Xbox 360.
