R.U.S.E. won't Carry Ubisoft's DRM

R.U.S.E. won't Carry Ubisoft's DRMUbisoft has clarified that its upcoming real-time strategy game R.U.S.E. will require a Steam account and Internet connection to play it online. Announced back in March, this deception based war strategy game R.U.S.E. is set to be released next month. Seems like Ubisoft doesn't want to take any chances with its DRM and refutes to Steam entirely.

Let's take a look what happened in the past. Assassin's Creed 2 PC game owners suffered with DRM woes and Ubisoft compensated them with free DLC. Aymeric Evennou, Ubisoft Senior Community Developer, posted at Steam's board that the game would be making the best of Valve's Steamworks API. Gamers will be required to create a Steam account and use Internet connection for activating the game - as per Steam's policy. Hence, R.U.S.E. won't use Ubisoft's Digital Rights Management System.

Several gamers must be relieved to hear this. However, the post further clarified that Ubisoft DRM would be used. Those who've been holding back from taking a decision would certainly like to buy this war game.
