HTC Leo Now Official

We have had enough of leaked pictures and spy shots. After what seemed like months of waiting, the HTC Leo was made public by HTC on the eve of the launch of Windows Mobile 6.5 on Tuesday.

The Leo will be known as the HD2 in most markets and as you might be aware, it is an impressively spec-ed Windows Mobile powered handset. While the pictures might not be able to justify its sheer size, let me just remind you that this is one monster of a phone - both in looks and specs-wise. The HD2 boasts of a 4.3-ich (that's right, 4.3 inch) WVGA (480X800) touchscreen display - and that might just be one of the largest touchscreen displays currently available on mobile phones, if not the largest. The Omnia HD for comparison's sake "just" has a 3.7-inch display which we thought was huge - and this one makes the Omnia HD screen look like a midget.

The HD2 comes with HTC's custom made Sense UI that will run atop Windows Mobile 6.5. The Sense UI was first seen on the Android laden HTC Leo that was launched earlier this year. The HD2 is expected to be launched across Europe by the end of this month. As of now, there is no word about its Indian arrival.
