PSPgo Owners Face Gaming Woes

Sony had proudly launched the much anticipated PSPgo handheld gaming console on Oct. 1 as promised. Along with that, Sony also launched PSPgo Rewards Program for Europe, the UK and Australian consumers upgrading to PSPgo. However, Sony locked down the PSN content download to PSPgo only due to DRM restrictions since many used PS3 for downloading content. Users have been complaining about the same on Sony's message boards.

North America remained devoid of PSPgo Rewards program due to legal and technical reasons. Basically, Sony is yet to add DRM restrictions to the UMD which couldn't be passed around or messed with. Also, digital rights on loads of content were yet to be acquired. Sony has ramped to lock down PSPgo with all new media content and standards which will make users to go adopt model specific content.

Users under the PSPgo Rewards program face difficulties in downloading and playing the media content. The UMD exchange program which was promised hasn't been implemented worldwide. So, can we safely continue playing our UMDs and not buy PSPgo. If the content for PSPgo isn't ready, why would any consumer buy it for the heck of playing threegames?

Sony has teased and pushed PSPgo as the next-gen gaming device. But there's not sight of games or proper content for it. If Sony really cares about its customers, then it'd fix up the issues soon and live up to the hype it has created about PSPgo.
