Nokia N86 To Get Face Detection Soon!

Nokia's flagship camera phone -- N86 -- getting a firmware update according to some reports doing the rounds of the web. While that's a pretty normal occurrence, what is different this time is the talk of this firmware version giving the N86 the ability to get the face detection feature.

The camera phone from the Nokia stables was let down by the lack of some features competing products come with. One of this was face detection and smile shot that most 8MP camera phones have as standard these days. So, it was natural that Nokia was forced to look into this issue and looks like the solution is almost here as well!

The next update will also improve upon the image quality of the phone. With the new software, it reportedly records fewer artifacts - apart from providing better color processing in photos. There are also reports of the file sizes of the images being reduced as well.

The new firmware should be out soon and we would love the N86 stand up to its rivals and see how it performs post the update. Watch this space!
