This was just about time. The good ol' green and flashy Sony Ericsson website just received a makeover of sorts. Along with the redesigned website, the very familiar Sony Ericsson logo has now embraced more colors. We did report about Sony Ericsson intentions with the new logos back in July.
While the website may look quite different now, underneath the flashy exterior, the navigation and the structure of the menus remain the same. The new site, however, might just be heavy for those on slower Internet connections. The major change is undoubtedly the logo, which now comes in seven different colors - although not all colors are visible on the site as yet.
As for the logo, the "original" Green Sony Ericsson logo is now followed by seven new color variants. Prima facie, it seems the different colors of the logos will be used in various sections of the website. So you might see a purple colored one under the phones and accessories section, a blue one in the support section, a green one on the downloads section and so on. According to Sony Ericsson, the makeover has been planned in such a way that it will expand the appeal of its globally recognized "liquid identity" logo. The company also aims to adopt a more open and questioning attitude by inviting greater consumer participation in the brand through a stronger focus on interactive digital and social media channels.
Let's just hope that the company recovers from its current economic slump very soon. The website redesign and imminent arrival phones like the Satio and the Rachael (X3) are steps in the right direction and we might just see a resurgent Sony Ericsson in the near future!
