The Wait Could End Next Month!

The GSM version of Palms' much acclaimed WebOS laden Palm Pre is all set to appear in the next few months. Well, we're not saying this! The German O2 website is! Now, for a little bit of history:While we knew that Palm had the GSM version of the Pre under the works, there was no indication from Palm as to when would it finally show up. The wait seems to be nearing its end thanks to a promotional advertisement on German mobile operator O2's website. The advertisement seems to imply the fact that the Pre is all set to arrive on the O2 network this autumn. Since we Indians are not used to this Autumn terminology, we at Techtree did the conversion for you and guess what we figured out?! The Palm Pre could arrive on GSM as early as next month!The Palm Pre was launched back in June on the Sprint network in U.S. - six months after its announcement earlier this year. Back then, it was promised that the GSM version of the Pre would be "coming soon". That time seems to have finally arrived, almost nine months after the initial announcement. So, all of you who have been inching to get a taste of the WebOS at work on a device that you could actually use, your wait is over! Well, almost.All we need to know now is when would the Pre make an appearance on the Palm India website where they continue to sell the Centros and the Treos. Sigh!
