Sega assistant producer Matthew Hickman confirmed that Obsidian Entertainment developed Alpha Protocol is due to arrive later this year, reports MTV Multiplayer. Earlier, the game was planned for release in October 2009 but it never showed up on the release date. Later, Sega gave Spring 2010 as the release date for Alpha Protocol.
Sega will publish the espionage role-playing game Alpha Protocol game and as Hickman stated, "We had a few reasons for doing it (delay). One: We wanted to position it better, give it a lot of time. The main reason: We really wanted to polish the game up, make it everything Obsidian planned it to be, and give the consumer a very polished game." Obviously, every developer and publisher wants its game to look better on all three platforms - Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Further, Hickman added, "We added a couple of other things. Tweaks in lighting here and there, added the inventory comparison screen so you can compare what you're buying to what you have equipped. Just bringing the whole quality level up." Expectations will raise since gamers will anticipate more realistic and deep looking RPG game. Better lighting would give more pleasing feel to the environment in the game.
Joystiq's blogger Ben Gilbert claimed that the game will be released in Summer 2010. However, the official game pagestates it as Spring 2010. It is quite possible that Sega will show off the game demo at the Game DevelopersConference to be held next month and also announce a new release date for the same.
