Just a day after the LG GT350 was announced, LG has taken covers off its next touchscreen handset! We're talking about the LG Cookie Plus that has been officially announced by the company yesterday. The Cookie Plus, as the name suggests will be a spiced up, fresher version of the extremely successful LG Cookie. The Cookie has sold over 10 million units ever since its launch in 2008.
LG hopes to recreate the aura of the Cookie brand with this new release. Does that Cookie Plus have it in it - what needs to be there to replicate the success of the original Cookie? A main reason for the success of the Cookie was its specs and with the Cookie Plus,LG has added even more features. In fact, the Cookie Plus is being presented as the successor to the "original" Cookie?
On the features front, the new Cookie offers 3G Connectivity - a feature absent in its previous avatar. It also features comprehensive Social networking connectivity (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr), animated UI with widgets, a full touchscreen and an FM tuner. The imaging part is dealt by a decent 3MP camera.
The LG Cookie Plus GS500 will be first available Europe starting March and will be soon rolled out to other parts of the globe. The price is expected to match that of the original LG Cookie, at the time of launch. LG also plans to launch a "bunch of Cookie branded handsets" in 2010
