EA Launches Dante's Inferno for PS3, Xbox360

Electronic Arts has finally launched the much awaited title - Dante's Inferno for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Based on the poem 'The Divine Comedy', the game Dante's Inferno is available in Europe while North America based gamers will have to wait till February 9. As announced earlier, the game is available for both platforms for $60 (Rs. 2,900 approx.) in February without any delays.

Developed by Visceral games, the Dante's Inferno is journey of crusader through nine circles of hell for saving his beloved Beatrice. Dante Alighieri's vividly imagined nine circles of hell are - limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. The player gets to play the crusader and fight with the demons of each circle with game running at 60 frames per second.

Visceral also announced that it will released the first downloadable content pack dubbed Dark Forest which would serve as prequel level in March. This level shows Dante's journey home and his struggle with new enemies, relics andpuzzles. Next in April, Trails of Saint Lucia full expansion pack offering a co-operative multiplayer mode, an in-game combat editor and playable character, would be released.

The in-game combat editor will allow users to create their own combat trails and share with others by uploading them online. Both DLC packs will offer souls, skins, relics and magic to add more power in the rough journey through hell.

Dante's Inferno for PlayStation Portable will be released later this month on February 22.
