Research in Motion is said to be working on the third version of its touchscreen smartphone - BlackBerry Storm. Dubbed as Storm 3, this smartphone would get a very minor refresh and would be brought in with brand new user interface, reported Engadget. A tipster tipped a slide from a 'confidential' presentation that stated that the BlackBerry Storm can be expected by the end of this year.
RIM making all efforts to roll out the much teased BlackBerry OS 6.0 that brings kinetic scrolling and multi-touch across BlackBerry smartphones soon. As per the blurry slide photo, the device has been dubbed as Odin Refresh and would bring energized BlackBerry Touch experience - BlackBerry OS 6.0. There would be minor changes from the features and innards of Storm 2 as Odin Refresh was listed to have webkit browser, 512MB RAM with up to 32GB expandable storage, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi 802.11n, 3G Mobile Hotspot and most importantly - world edition.
Interesting feature updates to be noted here are the 3G Mobile Hotspot which is just like Android 2.2 Froyo update that brings Wi-Fi HotSpot feature. So, Storm 3 would be capable of turning itself into a mobile hotspot by 3G-to-Wi-Fi conversion. Also, to run the new touch rich and kinectic scrolling spiced interface with BlackBerry 6.0 OS, RIM will add more RAM and make it responsive enough with its SurePress screen. A higher quality 5-megapixel camera has been added and we hope we can record video in HD since both Android and Apple camp have devices capable of 720p HD video recording.
Since the launch date is not visible clear except the letters "...ember", we assume that this SurePress touchscreen laden Storm 3 might hit the globe by the end of this year.
