D-Link has introduced a Wi-Fi N addition to its portable and lightweight multi-function pocket router family for wireless access on the fly. The D-Link Wireless N Pocket Router/Access Point (DAP-1350) with multi-mode functionality can be used as a wireless router to create an 802.11n Wi-Fi network or as an access point to add Wi-Fi to an existing wired network for connectivity on the go. The device can also be used to connect an Ethernet-ready device, such as a desktop PC or Xbox 360, to a Wi-Fi network for increased flexibility and convenience.
The DAP-1350 comes with its own travel case and is compact enough to be carried while travelling. When operating in wireless client mode, the router supports Power over USB to use a PC to power the device if a power outlet is not accessible. It is also equipped with multiple intelligent antennas for better speed and range of the wireless signals. These internal antennas also serve to bounce wireless signals off walls and ceilings to work around obstacles and help eliminate dead spots.
The DAP-1350 offers the latest wireless security features to help prevent unauthorized access. It supports WPA and WPA2 and is equipped with a WPS push button to easily add devices and secure the network. Additionally, it includes SharePortTM Technology, which allows sharing of a USB printer or storage when in router mode. Before we forget, this is a Wi-Fi N ready router which means it is capable of transmitting data up to 5-times faster than Wireless G at farther distances.
D-Link DAP-1350 comes at an estimated street price of Rs. 5,999 and carries a 1 year warranty. The kit includes a compact travel pouch which contains CAT5 Ethernet Cable, USB Power Cable4 and Power Adapter.
