Asus has announced new slim Eee PC 1005PR netbook with high-resolution supporting and HD entertainment. Loaded with Intel Atom Pineview processor, this new Eee PC model joins the Seashell family netbooks and hasBroadcom Crystal HD Accelerator. This Asus Eee PC 1005PR netbook was shown at the CeBIT 2010 tradeshow that took place last month at Hannover, Germany. New Eee PC 1005PR can be pre-ordered from Amazon or B&H for $399 (Rs. 19,200 approx.).
This is yet another Seashell netbook after Eee PC 1005PE that comes equipped with Intel Pineview Atom processor. Asus Eee PC 1005PR packs 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor with 512KB L2 cache and 667MHz Front side bus. This Atom CPU has integrated graphics capable of supporting 720p HD output and also integrated memory controller.
For better HD video playback support Asus has bundled Broadcom Crystal HD Accelerator chip along with Intel UMA graphics. This HD accelerator chip will play the HD content without stuttering, lag or any other similar issues. Since this netbook belongs to Seashell line up, it carries similar glossy looking chassis design and also chiclet style keyboard.
Eee PC 1005PR has a 10.1-inch display that supports 1366x768 pixel resolution and thus offers more space while working on documents or simply browsing web. Thanks to the hardware, this netbook come with Windows 7 Starter edition and to support it 1GB RAM. Asus offers 750GB hybrid storage solution that comprises of 250GB HDD and 500GB of Asus WebStorage. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support and 0.3 megapixel webcam.
As per Asus' claims, the new Eee PC 1005PR offers 11 hours of battery life. This might be possible only with appropriate settings and by using Asus' Super Hybrid Engine power management.
