New Asus Motherboards Unlock Latent AMD CPU Cores

Asus has introduced new AMD 890GX chipset based motherboards that are capable of unlocking latent AMD processor cores. This exclusive CPU core unlocking technology is usable with AMD's triple core and quad core processor for maximizing the processing power. New M4A89GTD PRO Series motherboards will come in two versions with one of them bearing USB 3.0 ports. Asus is selling M4A89GTD PRO motherboard with USB 3.0 for Rs. 12,500 and the one without USB 3.0 ports for Rs. 10,500. Both motherboards come with three years warranty.


New M4A89GTD PRO Series motherboards are offered in two versions and the only difference between both almost identical motherboards is the USB 3.0 port support. One of the distinct features of these motherboards is the new Core Unlocker switch that activates up to four latent AMD CPU cores of the AMD's triple-core and quad-core processors. Remember the days when BIOS hack unlocked fourth core in AMD Phenom II X3 processor?


Core Unlocker could be a nice feature for the high-processing tasks and even for gaming. Also, users can use the GPU Boost tool for overclocking the graphics processor in real-time. Asus claims that its Xtreme system design makes these motherboards more stable at extreme levels backed up by higher performance. The Turbo Key II is the auto-tuning feature on these motherboards that optimizes the system performance to an extreme stable yet level.


These motherboards are based on the recently announced AMD 890FX chipset that is claimed to give HD entertainment for a budget PC. Any advanced ATI graphics card can be used with this motherboard for high quality graphics and visuals. Both motherboards support ATI CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFireX technologies for hooking up more than one graphics card.


Both M4A89GTD PRO Series motherboards support SATA 3.0 6Gb/s that promises twice the data throughput than the SATA 2.0 standard. This is where USB 3.0 offering phenomenal speeds comes handy. For instance, a 25GB HD movie can be transferred in 70 seconds. Both motherboards can hold up to 14 USB devices/connections. Only M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 motherboard accommodates two USB 3.0 ports along with other 12 USB 2.0 connections.
