LG's latest Android based handset, the LU2300, had been in the news for the past week or so for various reasons. However, there was no confirmation from LG if this indeed was on the verge of being announced.
Well, that was then. LG has admitted the existence of the phone through its UK blog where it has also detailed some of the specifications of the phone. Prima facie, the phone looks like an upgraded version of the existing Android based phone from LG, the GW620. It will come loaded with Android 2.1.
On the hardware front, the LU2300 boasts of a 3.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. The phone would be powered by the usual suspect, the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and also comes with a 5 megapixel camera. Other features include Wi-Fi, a DMB Tuner full DivX support. The phone also comes with a slide out, full QWERTY keyboard.
When launched, the LU2300 would be the LG equivalent of the Nexus One and HTC Desire, but with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard added.
Now for the bad part: this one, as of now, is only headed for the Korean shores at an undisclosed price.
